The Journey

In all the spiritual traditions, it is taught that the truth and reality of our lives unfolds behind what the eye can see and what the senses can perceive. What we think is the essence of our lives is only an outer shell, a container that holds the pearls of our true nature. When we stop for a moment and listen to our longing, we find that there is little satisfaction in the humdrum of the details that consume most of our precious energy. When our soul finally cries for something deeper, we find ourselves on a Journey.

This is the Journey into the awakening of our heart, the Journey that brings us into discovering at long last the inner gifts each of us has. And finally our lives begin to make sense. We begin to see that as we give of ourselves, we experience love, peace and joy. The Journey is the secret of the spiritual traditions. And this secret gives us a map to finding ourselves in our goodness and our innocence.

The map is there, but sometimes the markings are difficult to recognize. It is hard to see how we block ourselves from Love. It is hard to change patterns that become ingrained in our behavior and in our thinking, patterns that keep us from being able to express the Love that is our birthright as humans. We become crippled into thinking that we are limited and that what we see or hear or own is all that there is. When we decide to move beyond these patterns and enter our depth, it is helpful to have a teacher.

It is rare to find a teacher who embodies this Journey in its many aspects. It is unusual to find someone who can guide others into the core of their personal experience. Nura Loeks is such a teacher.

Nura combines practical, down-home life experience with an extraordinary ability to cut to the essence of things. She teaches from her experience in the everyday world and illuminates for her students a spirituality that is alive, active and rooted in traditional wisdom. Her passion is service, and she devotes herself to helping others come more fully into themselves and their relationship to the Divine, so they can live lives of peace and harmony.

The Journey with Nura is made within a community of brothers and sisters from all over the globe. She closely mentors students in the United States, Canada, Europe, Israel and Southeast Asia. The Journey is a commitment that unfolds in a combination of retreats and personal mentoring. The retreats are held in many countries where students experience teaching and personal work in a group setting. Personal mentoring takes place through sessions scheduled on an individual basis and through individual retreats with Nura.
